Overview

Gill Branston is an Honorary Senior Lecturer and was Director of Undergraduate Studies in JOMEC.

She is the main author, with Roy Stafford, of The Media Student's Book 5th edition (2010) (Routledge) and its accompanying co-authored website – The Media Student's Book . The book has been widely translated, including editions in Chinese, Italian, and Spanish.

In 2010-2011 she contributed to the AHRC Research Network Spectacular Environmentalisms: Celebrity, Media and the Environment. Part of this was an article on re-thinking wildlife films: http://studyinggreen.wordpress.com/gill-branston.

She wrote two Study Guides for the Film Agency for Wales about films they had co-produced—Resistance(2011) and We Went to War (2012). These are now available free as pdf, and from the Apple iBooks site.

Her commentary article on the 2012 Olympics is in the JOMEC Journal, Nov. 2012 edition.

She is on the Board of Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, where she currently chairs the Artistic Programming Committee; Secretary of the charity Safer Birth in Chad saferbirthinchad.org and involved with Llandaff Fields People's Hub.
