Miss Melissa Julian-Jones

History Tutor for Continuing & Professional Education

Overview

I specialise in the Welsh March 1066-1272, with interests in socio-political and ecclesiastical networks. I have experience in teaching at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Access to HE and Adult Learning Course levels, and was an Honorary Research Associate at Cardiff University from 2015-2016 and the Network Facilitator for the Leverhulme Trust-funded project, Voices of Law: Text, Language and Practice from 2016-2018.

Currently I am the co-organiser and co-editor of the Power of the Bishop Conference Series and Transactions, and a History Tutor for the Cardiff University Centre for Continuing and Professional Education (CPE).

I am also a voluntary Medieval Researcher for the AHRC-funded CAER Heritage Project [CHP], co-producing research with the local community and schools in West Cardiff, with whom I lead community courses through Live Local Learn Local.

In addition to the public engagement and curriculum support activities which CHP delivers, I am also the Project Lead on a curriculum enhancement project producing history research skills resources for students and teachers for KS4-5. This Research Councils UK-funded project website can be found at: www.welshbacchistory.co.uk.
