Dr Jane Lane

Research Associate

School of Medicine

Overview

I am currently a member of the CCMRC, having joined the then Metastasis and Angiogenesis Research Group in the Department of Surgery, University of Wales College of Medicine in January 2000 after working for the previous 21 years in the Department of Traumatic and Orthopaedic Surgery, Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff.

Whilst with CCMRC I initially worked on the expression of human delta-6-desaturase and its association with the aggressiveness of human breast cancer, moving on to study for my PhD investigating the role of the Rho/Rac family and its signalling complex in the invasiveness and metastasis of human breast cancer, which was awarded in 2010.

Leading on from this work I have examined the processes of epithelial-mesenchymal transition in relation to cancer cell motility and cancer progression, and I am currently looking at any links between the ERM proteins and EMT in cancer.

I am currently co-ordinating editor for CUCK 2017.
