My early research focused on control theory and its applications. Specifically, I led several NSFC and 863 Program (China) projects in the areas of system identification, intelligent control, fault diagnosis, and navigation system. I am currently conducting research on a broad range of areas related to machine learning, computer vision, and graphics. I have led / participated in several EPSRC projects in these areas as PI, Co-I, or researcher. I am trying to combine control theory with computer vision and graphics to develop new research ideas.

My current research interests are in graphics, image processing, computer vision, and pattern recognition. I am seeking to apply advanced control theory and methodology in visual computing. Previously, I had researched in the fields of systems and control theory and engineering, especially in system identification, filtering, fault diagnosis, fault-tolerant control, fuzzy control, adaptive control, robot navigation, and intelligent transportation system.
