Research

My main research interests lie in the role of Wnt signalling within normal intestinal epithelium maintenance and tumourigenesis. I am particularly interested in the relationship between intestinal stem cells and tumourigenesis and have been using the efficiency of organoid formation as a readout of “stemness” within the gut.

One of my projects is also focused on the role of dlg-1 within tumourigenesis due to its function as a regulator of polarity. This has drawn my research interests into the field of cell polarity.

Public Engagement

As a STEM ambassador I have given a number of public talks about cancer to a variety of audiences. In addition to this I have helped to develop a number of interactive activities to teach about lifestyle choices and cancer which I have presented at a variety of scientific engagement events around South Wales.
