Research student,

Overview

My PhD is a mixed methods study incorporating quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the theoretical concept of resilience applied to front line nurses in Wales.

This study is informed by recent research, UK and Welsh policy in order to enhance the health and wellbeing of nurses and the delivery of nursing care in Wales. Of increasing government and public significance is the supply of nurses’ and their ability to deliver safe person centred care and positively cope with the increasing demands of their work, now and in the future.

This unique study will inform practice, education, policy and research of what works well, what could work better and the nature of what is needed to develop resilience of frontline nurses in Wales to benefit the health and wellbeing of nurses and patients.

My work fits within the Workforce, Innovation and Improvement Research theme in the School of Healthcare Sciences and the Wellbeing Connect research group in the School of Psychology.
