Marianne Jenkins

Research student,

Overview

I qualified as a RGN in 1990 and completed further training to become a RSCN in 1996. I completed my MSc in Nursing studies in 2006 with research into staff experience of parental presence during paediatric resuscitation. I have predominately worked in either paediatric assessment units or emergency units for my clinical career and have spent the last few years completing advanced clinical practitioner courses to allow me to work autonomously as an advanced nurse practitioner in an Emergency Unit. I have spent some time previously as an associate lecturer with Cardiff University and still teach on undergraduate and post graduate courses in the school of healthcare sciences.

Research

Research interests

My research interest is in the role and skills of Advanced Nurse Practitioners with my research proposal being to determine the difference in roles and skill of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a Core Trainee Doctor in the Emergency Unit.
