Overview
UK-US relations regarding the South Asian crisis of 1971 are not widely discussed within the vast amount of literature on the post-war Anglo-American relationship. British policy is particularly under researched in comparison to the numerous analyses of the US foreign policy. My PhD thesis aims to provide an archive-based analytical account of the events from the Pakistani elections of December 1970 to the aftermath of the Indo-Pakistan war of December 1971.
