Current Projects

Our research interests principally centre on the examination of the ocular surface and the tear film, particularly in contact lens wear, and ocular & systemic disease.

Current projects within the research unit include:

• Ocular surface sensation

• Inflammatory markers in the tear film

• Measurement of tear meniscus height

• Temperature behind contact lenses

• The role of mucins in frictional forces on the ocular surface

• Corneal staining

• Use of dry eye drops

• Investigating contact lens non-compliance
