Opfest is go!

It was cold and windy but that didnt deter over 100 students from enthusiastically participating in the very first Opfest, held on Saturday 6th March 2010 and hosted by Cardiff University OPSOC. Students from all the UK optometry schools were welcomed to Cardiff for a day filled with team sports and good old-fashioned sports day races! Based on the BODSA (British Optometry and Dispensing Students Association) events - last held in 1988 - it was all a bit of fun. And it wasnt just for the sports mad - it was a fantastic day out for supporters too! Activities included tug of war, as well as dodgeball, football, netball and touch rugby. A Ceilidh Barn Dance and Ball rounded of the day and allowed the celebrations to continue into the night. It couldn't have happened without a lot of hard work from the Cardiff team, led by Steph Campbell.
