How to Apply
Please apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) – the link is on the right here. The UCAS code for Cardiff University is C15, and the BSc (Hons) Optometry course code is B510.
We normally have 70 home/EU student places in the first year, plus between 15 and 20 places for students from overseas.
Application Guidelines

We consider each application on an individual basis. We expect applicants to have gained some work experience in optometry, and consequently have an awareness of the profession and its role.
In the personal statement, we would like to see what else you have done outside academic achievements - non-academic awards, hobbies, work and volunteer experience, athletic involvement, community and club membership, for example.
Visiting the School
Cardiff University has general open days during April and September each year, but we also open up the School on specific days during November to March to applicants to whom we have made offers. This gives prospective students the opportunity to look around the School and meet present students and the staff. We feel it is very important that prospective students visit the School before making their decision on where they wish to study.
