Stephanie studies the development of the cornea of young people who have Down's syndrome, and in particular the onset of keratoconus in this group, its identification and subsequent management - using both clinical and biophysical analysis, in order to understand the microstructure of the Down syndrome cornea, and to develop diagnostic protocols.
After qualification, Stephanie worked as a clinical supervisor for one year in contact lens, refraction and primary care clinics. As a PhD student, she continues this supervising and teaching work in investigative techniques, colour vision and contrast sensitivity practicals. Stephanie also contributes to postgraduate teaching for WOPEC, in refraction and clinical techniques.
