Dr Ivor Harrison

1931-2011

I regret to inform you of the death at the age of 80 of Dr. Ivor Harrison, a former long-serving member of the Welsh School of Pharmacy.

Ivor joined the School, after completing his National Service in the mid-1950s, as lecturer in pharmacy law and pharmaceutics. He retired in the mid-1990's and graduates of the School over four decades would know Ivor well and have fond memories of his teaching. He wrote a definitive text on the Medicines Act shortly before he retired and was an advisor to a number of governments on medicines law, including Malta and Israel. He was closely involved in action against drug misuse and co-founded a local drug misuse charity. He served as pharmacist member on the Welsh Committee on Drug Misuse.

After retirement, he moved to the Netherlands to live close to his daughter. He died there on 4 February after a long illness.
