On Saturday 15 October Cardiff University's flagship engagement project Community Gateway, alongside the Grange Pavilion Project, the Welsh School of Architecture and Art Shell, will be hosting an interesting and interactive exhibition asking local people: 'What's your vision of Grangetown?'

The event will be taking place at the newly renovated Grange Pavilion and will consist of a workshop entitled 'My vision of Grangetown' between 10am-2pm, asking local people to share their visions for Grangetown with Cardiff University architecture students and resident artists Richard Powell and Art Shell.

The workshop will then be followed by a 'What's your Grangetown?' exhibition between 2-5pm,  celebrating Grangetown's past, present and future with displays of work from the Welsh School of Architecture students and Grangetown area school pupils. There will also be an opportunity to take part in free activities for kids and adults and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake with the team.

Mhairi McVicar, academic lead of the Community Gateway project said of the event:

"We are really excited about third year architecture students organising an event in the local community  and look forward to working with local residents to build a realistic and sustainable vision of Grangetown"

The workshop and exhibition are free and open to all, although booking is advisable for the workshop as places are limited.

The event is also an opportunity to meet the Community Gateway team and to find out more about the Grangetown resident-led Grange Pavilion Project's ideas for turning the Grange Pavilion into a community-owned centre .

The Grange Pavilion is now open for drop-in sessions every Monday and Friday between 9am-5pm where you can come and meet a member of the team to find out more about Community Gateway and how you can get involved or you can contact us on communitygateway@cardiff.ac.uk
