The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and Cardiff University are delighted to announce a full 3 year Scholarship for the ‘Illustrated Children's Literature’ project.

Under the supervision of Dr Siwan Rosser and Professor Sioned Davies, this project will explore an area completely new to Welsh scholarship and provide opportunities to carry out multidisciplinary work on the relationship of images and words.

You will trace the original illustrated literature for children in Welsh and examine how the meaning of words and pictures are created and interpreted in the context of producing literature in a minority language.

If you are curious by nature and have a keen interest in literature and visual culture and are able to work independently, we would like to hear from you. You can have an informal discussion and further details by contacting Siwan Rosser (rossersm@cardiff.ac.uk, 02920 87 4710).

Requirements

A 2:1 degree in a relevant subject (such as Art, Welsh, History, Cultural Studies). Ideally, you will have completed or are currently studying a taught postgraduate course.

Closing date: 24 June. Interviews: 28-29 June

For an application form and further details, please contact cymraeg@cardiff.ac.uk
