Mesuro, a spin-out company born out of innovative microwave research at Cardiff School of Engineering, has been bought by Canadian firm Focus Microwaves Inc, who manufacture and sell microwave test equipment to a worldwide customer base.

The acquisition of Mesuro will bring a range of sophisticated measurement and modelling products under the wing of the Quebec company and will showcase Cardiff-based research to an wider international audience.

Mesuro has been a leader in developing radio frequency equipment and device measurement for the semiconductor industry after being established with help from the Cardiff Partnership Fund, Fusion IP, Finance Wales and the ERA Foundation.

The technology for Mesuro’s success has been developed as a result of over a decades' research at Cardiff School of Engineering’s renowned Centre for High Frequency Engineering founded by Professor Paul Tasker in 1997. The Centre has an international reputation in the fields of non-linear measurement systems, device characterization, and circuit design, and works with many leading companies in the RF communications field to address significant technical challenges through fundamental research.
