World-famous festival gets a philosophical take with Stand-Up Philosophy

‘Have you heard the one about how many philosophers it takes to change a light bulb?’

Hailed as akin to TED Talks but much more fun, Stand-Up Philosophy gets the Fringe’s top comedians and professional philosophers to say what they really think about the big questions of life.

Among the academic line-up is Dr Dafydd Huw Rees who teaches Philosophy at Cardiff.

With interests including political philosophy and the philosophy of religion, Dr Rees will be waxing lyrical on the theme of "Mistakes" (15 August), "Games" (16 August), "Love" (17 August) and "Truth and Knowledge" (18 August).

With a fresh line-up every day, audiences have the chance to challenge thinking and change the flow of each show.

Stand-Up Philosophy is free at the Counting House as part of the thousands of events taking place at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
