Professor Martin Kitchener, Dean of Cardiff Business School, has been shortlisted in the Leadership in the Public Sector category of the 2018 Leading Wales Awards.

The pan-Wales awards, in association with the Institute of Leadership and Management, is in its fourteenth year and seeks to identify, recognise and celebrate personal achievement in outstanding leadership in Wales.

Professor Kitchener, who became Dean of Cardiff Business School in 2012, has pioneered a unique public value strategy which seeks to deliver social improvement alongside economic development across the School’s core activities of research and engagement, teaching and learning and self-governance.

Professor Kitchener said: “To be recognised by the Leading Wales Awards and their consortium of prestigious partners is a real privilege.

“The shortlisting is an endorsement of the guiding principles outlined in our public value strategy, which has really been the driving force for our ambitions as a School during my tenure...”

“With the support of an excellent Faculty we’ve been able to implement a programme of business education, research and governance characterised by excellence. For this, I thank my colleagues and friends at Cardiff Business School and beyond who have supported my leadership.”
