Two Central Square ready for induction week

5 July 2018

Two Central Square
The School will soon welcome students into Two Central Square for the first time.

This September the School of Journalism, Media and Culture will open the doors of its new home for the first time.

Students attending this year’s induction events will do so at Two Central Square and a new look timetable will allocate lectures and seminars to rooms in the new building.

Its location, alongside BBC Cymru/Wales and Trinity Mirror, will help the School expand upon existing links with local and national media companies, helping to support placement opportunities and improve student employability.

New chapter

"All our students will benefit from the new lecture theatres, seminar rooms and study spaces while postgraduate students will also benefit from an expansion of production facilities" said Professor Richard Sambrook, Director of the School's Centre for Journalism.

"As well as six newsrooms and numerous video editing suites, we will now have two TV studios and two radio studios, which will greatly enhance our ability to offer a leading-edge production experience.”

"We are extremely excited about what we'll be able to offer our new and returning students in just a few months' time."
