Listen to an interview with Harry Newman, Cardiff Students' Union President
Higher education has changed in recent years - particularly in terms of how it is funded - and we now operate in an ever-evolving environment.
Rising expectations and an eye on future employment prospects continue to focus students’ minds when choosing where and what to study.
The Way Forward sets a clear direction: the student experience at Cardiff must be a byword for excellence. The Education and Students document shared here gives us the specific details needed to deliver our objectives over the next five years.
We want to build on current good practice to provide a positive and enriching student experience that will be supported through an effective and innovative Education and Student experience.
Whether it’s recruiting the best candidates from Wales, the UK, and across the World; regularly reviewing our academic and professional services supporting students; constantly ensuring that course programmes are in line with educational and employment needs, attracting and training the best and right staff and; giving students the most up-to-date facilities in which to study – this strategy sets out our aspirations. We now need to complete the accompanying Action Plan to ensure these aspirations become a reality.
As we end one academic year, so the plans for next year begin. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this agenda over the past year, I hope you manage to find time for some well deserved rest and relaxation over the coming weeks and I look forward to working with you all as we welcome our returning students and a new cohort in September.
