Professor Sian Griffiths, Head of the University’s School of Public Health, works closely with Cardiff and also China’s Chongqing University on a number of public health issues. The joint projects include research on antibiotic prescribing and the management of heart disease.
The Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University, Dr David Grant, presented Professor Griffiths with the award at a ceremony in Hong Kong.
Professor Griffiths said: "I am very proud to be associated with Cardiff - and look forward to more long term collaboration with the University. I very much enjoyed the ceremony and am very grateful for the honour bestowed on me."
The ceremony in Hong Kong is part of a University delegation to China, led by the Vice-Chancellor. The visit is building a number of partnerships, including major new medical research agreements with Peking and Capital Medical Universities.
