Stuart Vanstone is Cardiff University’s Head of Sport, and as such is responsible for managing all University sports facilities and encouraging participation in sport across the University at all levels. However Stuart’s interest in sport is not just confined to the University. Stuart has been supporting Cardiff City since he joined the Junior Bluebirds Supporters Club as an eleven year old.
As a lifelong Cardiff City fan, Stuart shared his memories of the club, from watching matches against Scunthorpe at a near empty Ninian Park, to watching the club secure promotion to the UK’s top flight of football in their new flagship stadium.
Listen to Stuart thoughts on what the club’s promotion will mean for the city of Cardiff, and also what impact Cardiff City’s success will have on football in the local community.
