Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks

There are various circumstances where you may need to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check either prior to or during your time at Cardiff University.

If you require a DBS check, your School will let you know.

Accessing the online DBS form

Your Academic School or College will ask for your name and email address and refer your details to an online system to apply for your DBS check. You will receive an email with joining instructions.

Using the online DBS form

Supporting original documentation is required (such as a passport, birth certificate and bank statement). The system provides full details of the documentation you can use in the relevant section.

After submission

Please note it can take between 2 to 8 weeks to receive your disclosure certificate. You can log into the online system to track your progress after submission.
