The Brain Domain is a community engagement project run by Cardiff University postgraduates to promote science communication.

Effective science communication is a skill that funders increasingly seek in the modern scientist. This project works to engage the interested public with thought-provoking articles in addition to developing science communication skills for early-career scientists in a peer-driven setting.

Aligning with the British Neuroscience Association (BNA)’s objectives, The Brain Domain seeks to help both contributors and readers connect with other branches of neuroscience. Whilst public engagement is the key benefit, the platform provides an environment to develop these skills with the support and guidance of peers.

In addition, the resources page on the website provides a ‘memory bank’ of neuroscience links and resources to help students and researchers with their science theory learning, publishing skills and data analysis.

Share your passion for science communication

Articles posted on The Brain Domain website come in all shapes and sizes, from quirky introductions on neuroscience topics to explorations of recent news and patient perspectives.

You do not need experience of writing for the web, just a passion for communicating your neuroscience knowledge to a wider audience! The editorial team encourages submissions that highlight the author's voice and background, fostering an environment where the diversity of those contributing to neuroscience is acknowledged.
