Centres and groups

The School of Music has established a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration in research both within and beyond Cardiff University.

Our leading research centre, Cardiff Interdisciplinary Research in Opera and Drama (CIRO), allows us to consolidate the critical mass of operatic research expertise within the School and to facilitate collaboration with professional practitioners.

Our Centre for Research into Historically Informed Performance (CRHIP) was established in 2004 to provide the equivalent of a 'well-found laboratory' for research into performance through history. This research group is currently inactive. Please contact the School if you would like further information.
