Three New Lecturers Appointed
During the autumn of 2010 three new lecturing posts were filled in the School of Music.
Dr Amanda Villepastour was appointed as a specialist in Ethnomusicology and Dr Robert Fokkens was appointed as a specialist in composition. Both started their duties on 1 February 2011. For full details of their scholarly interests see the Staff Pages.
The third appointed lecturer is Dr Keith Chapin, who will be joining the School of Music on 1 August 2011. His specialist interest are focused in the long eighteenth century (1680-1830) with particular emphasis on the history of aesthetics and music theory in the period.
He is currently working on a book The Cultures of Counterpoint in Eighteenth-Century Germany. Dr Chapin has taught at Fordham University (New York) and Victoria University Wellington (New Zealand).
