School of Music - Lecturing Opportunities
The School of Music is a large and successful department with an established record of international research and research-led teaching. With the aid of strategic university investment it is entering an exciting new phase of development and is seeking to appoint three new members of staff.
Lecturer (Composition) Grade 7
Composition is a major area of interest in the School of Music, from undergraduate through taught postgraduate to doctoral level. While the School wishes to consolidate its expertise in score-based composition it is seeking to attract applicants with complementary interests in either music analysis or electronic music.

Ethnomusicology is a comparatively new discipline in the School of Music but one that has already established itself as a vibrant part of the research and teaching culture. The School wishes to appoint a lecturer with a specialist interest in the music of Africa or in the African Diaspora.

To build on existing expertise the School of Music is seeking a lecturer/senior lecturer with specialist interest located in the long eighteenth century (c.1680-1830). All perspectives are welcome including aesthetic, analytical, cultural, editorial, historical, performance and theoretical.
