Arlene Sierra Showcase Concert at the Royal Opera House

Arlene Sierra has been accorded the honour of a Showcase Concert at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. The concert takes place on 3 December 2007 and is organised by OperaGenesis, with whom Sierra is also developing a chamber opera project.
The programme on Monday 3 December consists of five of Sierra's compositions written over the past decade:
- A Conflict of Opposites (2005) for clarinet and piano
- Three Descriptions (1997) for soprano and piano (European premiere)
- selections from Birds and Insects (2005) for piano solo
- Two Etudes after Mantegna (1998) for solo cello)
- Streets and Rivers (2007) for baritone and piano (preview premiere)
The performers are Pete Furniss (clarinet), Marie Vassiliou (soprano), Daniel Becker (piano), Robin Michael (cello), Jeremy Huw Williams (baritone) and Nigel Foster (piano).
