Postgraduate Research Studentships in Music 2007-08

Applications are invited for one full postgraduate research studentship and one 'fees-only' postgraduate research studentship, both studentships tenable from September 2007 for three years. Aplicants should have a good honours degree in Music (or be expected to obtain same this year) and be UK/EU citizens (or have been resident in the UK/EU for at least three years for reasons other than education).
The full studentship covers fees and maintenance to AHRC level. Successful applicants will be expected to register for an MPhil/PhD degree and play a full part in the School's postgraduate programme.
Cardiff University is a thriving centre for music with excellent library, IT and archival facilities. The School of Music was awarded a 5 grade in the 2001 RAE. The School has three PhD programmes:
- Composition
- Performance
- Thesis (interests embrace Critical Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Historical Musicology from the mid-eighteenth century to the present day, and Popular Culture)
