Open Days

University Open Days

The University holds an annual Open Day in April every year. This general University Open Day will give you the best access to the whole of Cardiff University, allowing you to explore the School, halls of residence, the Students' Union and anywhere else that might interest you on our campus. A smaller University Visit Day is also held in September, along with a series of campus tours for prospective students throughout the Summer.

University Visit Day

Friday 12th September 2008
The Visit Day is designed to give an overview of student life at Cardiff University and a chance for you to find out more about studying Music here. Visitors will gain an insight into student life and see why Cardiff is the UK’s eighth most popular University for applications attracting some 37,000 applicants for 4,500 undergraduate places.

Held in the Students Union Great Hall from 9.45 am until 3 pm you will be able to meet and chat with a representative from the School of Music (Dr Taylor). So if you are thinking of applying and have some questions then do come along.

There will also be organised campus tours to include the Students’ Union building and one of the student residences, and a series of presentations on subjects such as UCAS and Applying to Cardiff, Student Life, Student Finance and Student Residences and Welfare.

School Open Days

BMus Honours and BA Single Honours in Music
All students who are invited to attend an interview at the School will have the opportunity to meet staff and view the School’s facilities.

BA Joint Honours
Two humanities inter-school joint honours Open Days are usually in February and March each year.  The dates for 2009 are:

BSc Honours in Physics & Music
All BSc Physics & Music applicants are invited to attend a UCAS day in the School of Physics.  The visit includes a tour of the City, University and School allowing you to see such facilities as the library, residences, Students' Union, computer and experimental laboratories etc. There are illustrated talks describing the courses and the activities of the School.   For further information and dates of the UCAS days for 2009 please contact:
