Chamber Choir
Conductor: John Hugh Thomas
The University Chamber Choir usually gives at least two concerts each year, sometimes in combination with the Chamber Orchestra. Among its recent repertoire have been Haydn's Salve Regina and Little Organ Mass, and choral music from Finland, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Concert Dates for 2012-13:
- Saturday 27 October 2012 with the Symphony Orchestra, Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff
- Friday 14 December 2012 with the Symphony Orchestra, Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff Bay
- Friday 3 May 2013, Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff
The Chamber Choir rehearses every Wednesday afternoon, 15.30-17.00, in the University Concert Hall in the School of Music.
Auditions
The Chamber Choir is a group of 30-40 singers, and positions are gained by audition. Non-music students are welcome. Auditions are usually held once a year in the enrolment week of the Autumn semester. Schedules are usually displayed on the notice board in the main entrance of the School of Music - so keep your eyes posted if you would like to be considered!
