General public

Members of the public are welcome to visit or join our campus-based libraries.

You can visit our libraries and browse our print based resources without a membership. You can also access some eResources through our walk-in access to eResources service. Additionally, you can use our photocopying service.

If you want to borrow books from our libraries you'll need to become a member.

Membership options

Personal membership

Join us as a personal member to borrow books from our main collections and our store, reserve items on loan, and use the Inter-Library Loan service (additional charge applicable).

There is a charge of £60 for one year or £150 for three years for personal membership. You can borrow up to six main collection items.

CLIC membership

People studying, living and working in the Cardiff area are able to become a member through CLIC (Cardiff: Libraries in Cooperation). A list of participating libraries and information about how it works is available on the CLIC website.

There is a charge of £10 for one year or £25 for three years for CLIC membership. You'll be able to borrow up to two items at a time from the main library collection.

How to join

To join as a personal or CLIC member you will need to apply for a library card. These are issued at the following times and locations:

Library Registration times
Senghennydd Library

Monday to Friday 09:00 - 21:00, Saturday 10:00 - 17:00 (during semester time)

Monday to Friday 09:00 - 16:30 (during vacation time).

Health Library

Monday to Friday 10:00 - 12:00 (please contact the Health Library before visiting to check that ID card service is available)
