About me
I love learning about new things and developing new skills. I’d like to become a Primary School Teacher after my studies. I love being at university and I think it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.
Where I tutor
I’ve recently started my placement at Adamsdown Homework Club on Tuesdays. It’s great there. I help a range of pupils from Year 9 to Year 12 with their homework in a variety of subjects, but my speciality is English. Sometimes we have to improvise and create our own homework sheets for the pupils or find worksheets suitable for them. All the other Student Tutors are really friendly too.
My favourite memory from the Student Tutor Project
My favourite memory is probably when I helped one particular pupil with their science revision and they were quite worried about their exam they had coming up. I kept him focused and encouraged him to continue to revise and he came back the following week saying his exam went well and thanked me for helping him.
What I’ve gained from the project
- I’ve learnt how to communicate with people younger than me
- I’m more confident when addressing a class or groups of children
- I’ve gained great work experience which will help me with my own career of hopefully becoming a Primary School Teacher
