Cristina Fatmi has a BA (Hon.) in English from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain and a Teaching qualification from the same institution.
Cristina has taught for Cardiff University since October 1998. She teaches adults at all levels, from beginners to very advanced students at the Cardiff Centre for Lifelong Learning, and undergraduates of the Business School, ‘Vocational Skills Spanish’ to Year 1 students and ‘Business Language Spanish’ to Year 2 students, to prepare them for their Year abroad in Spain.
Cristina is the main examiner in Cardiff for the Diploma Español Lengua Extranjera (DELE) of the Cervantes Institute. Exams are held at the Centre every May.
Cristina also lectures in Business Spanish at Cardiff’s Metropolitan University, UWIC since 2009.
In 2009 she successfully applied to become a Fellow of the HEA and also achieved her PGCASR. Cristina’s interests lie within the fields of bilingualism and she has recently registered for a PhD on The dynamic relationship between bilingualism and economic activity within the tourism sector? A comparative study of Galicia and Wales.
