Helen Newton MCIPR, Account Director
In her role as Account Director Helen is responsible for leading online communications strategies for several clients across consumer, business, tourism and Welsh Government campaigns. A journalism graduate from Cardiff University, Helen joined Equinox in 2007 at a time when the communications industry was quickly evolving due to the explosion of social media.
Helen has delivered bespoke social media training for clients including The Red Dragon Centre, STAEDTLER UK and Cadw – the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, and offers ongoing social media advice when required. She prepares social media policy documents and style guides for clients, to ensure that online messaging and protocol is adhered to within the organisation or company.
In addition to bespoke sessions, Helen has co-hosted a series of beginner and advanced social courses at Cardiff University’s LEARN CPD arm, covering social media strategy, content creation, language and tone, blogger relations, tools and tactics, and evaluation.
Her knowledge and understanding and experience of implementing creative social campaigns led her to being named CIPR Cymru Wales’ Outstanding Young Communicator in 2011. Helen went on to become a CIPR Wales Committee Member, where she is responsible for the group’s e-marketing.
Helen writes a lifestyle blog and uses a wide range of channels – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, Vine and Tumblr – in her own time.
