Social Studies

Co-ordinating Lecturer- Jan Stephens

“The Social Studies section provides a stimulating and challenging set of courses.”

You have the opportunity to explore contemporary issues and debates, set in an academic context. All the courses related to Counselling provide welcome direction for those who use counselling skills in their work and home life.

You can now achieve a Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills (60 credits) for students who wish to evidence their learning in this area. The introduction to Psychology courses continue to provide a fascinating insight into complex issues and debates about people and the society we live in.

The Pathway to Social Science continues to be a very popular route to higher education for students who have been out of learning for some time.

Students can put their credits from Social Studies courses towards the Foundation Certificate in Social Studies (60 credits). For further information please contact Jan Stephens, the Co-ordinating Lecturer.
