COURSE DESCRIPTION

The aims of the module are to develop fundamental accounting and information management skills; show knowledge of the double-entry book-keeping process; differentiate management accounting concepts for control, profit measurement and decision making for a simple business organisation.

Who is this course for?

Introduction to Financial and Management Accounting is a 20 credit module on the Pathway to Accounting / Accounting and Finance programmes.

Learning and Teaching

Tutor-led classroom sessions, student-led seminars.
There will be two Saturday schools for Study Skills.
Your learning and teaching for this module is underpinned by self-directed study.

Coursework and Assessment

To award credits we need to have evidence of the knowledge and skills you have gained or improved.

On the Pathway Programme you will have formal assessments. These will take the form of class tests, written assignments, a course journal or a portfolio. Your assessments are designed to prepare you for further study in a degree setting.
