Our Centre is unique because of the wide choice of different foreign languages on offer. Amongst them, Croatian (Serbian and Bosnian), Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish at various levels. In addition to these, we offer French, German, Italian and Spanish in eight different levels of entry to suit everybody’s ability.
If for personal or professional reasons you need to quickly improve your French or Spanish – and we know this is the case for a large number of our students – then please look at our Fast Track courses. They will give you a chance to do two levels in the same year. But if you prefer to take your time, you will enjoy the pace of a weekly class.

Conversando en español
Este curso está dirigido a estudiantes de nivel avanzado que desean practicar sus destrezas orales y auditivas. El tipo de actividades que realizaremos en clase será de índole variada, incluyendo simulaciones de la vida cotidiana, debates sobre la actualidad española e internacional y discusiones sobre las diferencias culturales.
Culturas Españolas 2
El objetivo del curso es mejorar la competencia en español, al mismo tiempo que se obtiene un conocimiento más profundo de la cultura y la sociedad hispánicas. Los estudiantes desarrollarán sus destrezas en entonación, frases hechas y expresiones en español, además de sus estrategias comunicativas. También tendrán la oportunidad de discutir varios temas históricos y contemporáneos referentes al mundo hispano. Se usarán materiales escritos y audiovisuales, con un énfasis en el trabajo en grupos pequeños.
Spanish for Beginners - Stage A
This course aims to provide you with a grounding in the basic grammatical structures of Spanish in order to communicate at a basic level in essential social and survival situations in Spanish speaking countries. Though the emphasis is on speaking you will also learn grammatical structures and sentence pattern, which will form the basis for further progression in Spanish.
Spanish for Beginners - Stage A (Fast Track)
This course aims to provide you with a grounding in the basic grammatical structures of Spanish in order to communicate at a basic level in essential social and survival situations in Spanish speaking countries. Spanish for Beginners
This course aims to provide you with a grounding in the basic grammatical structures of Spanish in order to communicate at a basic level in essential social and survival situations in Spanish speaking countries. Though the emphasis is on speaking you will also learn grammatical structures and sentence pattern, which will form the basis for further progression in Spanish. You will learn to read basic messages, letters and texts, understand authentic dialogues and produce your own dialogues in group and/or pair work exercises during the class.
Speaking Spanish (Beginners)
This course will give you an opportunity to practise your speaking and listening skills in survival situations. The exercises will be based around the topics you have covered in the Spanish for Beginners class, but new students, who have some knowledge of Spanish, are also welcome. You will consolidate your skills by talking about yourself, your family, ordering food and drink, asking for directions etc. Listening exercises will take place in our multi-media language laboratory.
Spanish for Post-Beginners
This course will give you an opportunity to practise your basic speaking and listening skills in a practical context. The exercises will be based around the topics you have covered in the Spanish for Post-Beginners class, but new students, who have some knowledge of Spanish, are also welcome. You will consolidate your skills by talking about yourself, education, jobs and working life, holidays, hobbies and leisure time, money and shopping. Listening exercises will take place in our multi-media language laboratory.
Spanish for Improvers - Stage B
This course will enable you to use a broader but still limited range of oral, aural and written language skills. Though the emphasis is on speaking you will also learn more grammatical structures and sentence pattern, which are essential for further progression in Spanish.

Intermediate Spanish - Stage C
This course will enable you to use a broader range of oral, aural and written language skills, sufficient to get by in Spanish speaking countries with some hesitations on topics concerned with everyday matters and express your view in writing in a more elaborate style.

Intermediate Spanish
This course will enable you to use a broader range of oral, aural and written language skills, sufficient to get by in Spanish speaking countries with some hesitations on topics concerned with everyday matters and express your view in writing in a more elaborate style. You will also further develop your understanding of the culture of the Spanish speaking world.
Speaking Spanish (Intermediate)
This course will give you an opportunity to practise your basic speaking and listening skills in a practical context. The exercises will be based around the topics you have covered in the Intermediate Spanish class, but new students, who have some knowledge of Spanish, are also welcome. You will consolidate your skills by talking about: holidays, fiestas, free time, daily routines, sports; history and culture.
Higher Intermediate Spanish - Stage D
This course will enable you to use a broad range of oral, aural and written language skills, sufficient to speak freely in Spanish about selected topics. You will also practise listening skills which will enable you to understand Spanish at news-reading speed. You will learn to understand most articles from the Spanish press and comment upon their content in spoken and written form. You will also further develop your understanding of the culture of Spanish speaking countries.
Advanced Spanish - Stage E
This course will enable you to further develop your oral, aural and written language in order to express yourself confidently on most general topics, without much conspicuous searching for words and using some complex sentence forms to do so. You will consolidate and expand your understanding of the structure of the language and the culture of Spanish speaking countries.
Advanced Spanish - Stage F
This course will enable you to further develop your oral, aural and written language in order to express yourself fluently and almost effortlessly by selecting adequate complex sentence forms to do so. You will further consolidate and expand your understanding of the structure of Spanish by analysing and discussing cultural, social and political issues pertaining to Spanish speaking countries.
Advanced Spanish - Stage G
This course will enable you to expand your oral, aural and written language skills in order to develop a detailed knowledge and effective understanding of the structures, registers and linguistic principles required to analyse and manipulate the Spanish language. You will acquire an effective operational proficiency in Spanish which allows fluent and spontaneous communication.
Advanced Spanish - Stage H
This course will enable you to further expand your oral, aural and written language skills in order to develop your ability to produce and understand complex sentence structures and differentiate fine shades of meaning in highly specialised Spanish texts. You will learn and practise sophisticated ideomatic expressions enabling you to effectively analyse and present complex topics. Mediation between English and Spanish by means of translating and interpreting across a wide range of media will also be part of the course.
América Latina: una perspectiva cultural
Este curso está dirigido a aquellos estudiantes que deseen ampliar sus conocimientos sobre aspectos culturales e históricos de América Latina. Mediante el estudio de diversos materiales audiovisuales y escritos, se abordarán algunas de las características esenciales de una región de gran importancia para el mundo de habla hispana a la vez que se logrará una mayor comprensión de la riqueza de las variedades regionales del español. Al finalizar el curso los estudiantes se habrán familiarizado con un amplio rango de conceptos del campo de la música, literatura, historia, folclore y tradiciones de los países que componen la América de habla hispana.
Culturas españolas
Este es un curso para hablantes con un nivel alto de español. El alumno desarrollará sus destrezas orales en español, además de aprender sobre las diversas culturas de los países de habla hispana. Se utilizarán materiales audiovisuales actuales.
De cháchara
Este es un curso para hablantes de nivel avanzado. El alumno desarrollará sus habilidades orales en español y sus conocimientos de entonación, frases hechas y destrezas comunicativas en español. Se trabajará con materiales escritos y audiovisuales, con un énfasis en el trabajo en grupos pequeños.
España , años 30
Aunque las causas de la Guerra Civil que asoló España entre 1936 y 1939 aparecen mucho antes, fue en la difícil y esperanzadora década de los treinta cuando se hicieron más obvias. El curso se centra en el estudio de la política, sociedad y cultura de la década para entender el desencadenamiento de la Guerra Civil.
Lengua en práctica
El curso se centra en la práctica de los aspectos orales y de audición a través de unos ejercicios que ayuden al estudiante a mejorar la pronunciación, comprensión y producción orales a través de unos temas que exploran la sociedad, cultura y tradiciones españolas.
Tirando de la lengua
Este curso es la continuación ideal para aquellos alumnos que tengan un nivel H o similar. El curso se centra en tres temas teóricos de la lengua española, tres temas prácticos y los nuevos cambios gramaticales, siempre en un marco de estudio práctico (oral y de audición) de la lengua.
Advanced Spanish Conversation 1
This course is for you if you have attended 5 years of part-time study and/or if you have a good knowledge of Spanish and you want to further practise your conversation skills. This course will make extensive use of audio/visual materials and there will be ample opportunity to expand your active vocabulary.
Spanish Conversation for Absolute Beginners
This course is aimed at students who have no knowledge of Spanish. It focuses on speaking and understanding the language in practical contexts. Ideal if you want a taste of Spanish! Follow on course: Spanish for Post Beginners
Spanish Conversation for Post-Beginners
This intensive course is for you if you have attended one year of part-time study or you have rusty 'O' levels (GCSE) in Spanish. You will get ample opportunity to practise your Spanish conversational skills.
Spanish Conversation for Improvers
This intensive course is for you if you have attended two years of part-time study or you have recently gained a GCSE in Spanish. You will actively engage in conversation and listening skills supported by audio/visual aids.
Intermediate Spanish Conversation
This course is for you if you have attended 3 years of part-time study (or 4 years but you feel that your speaking skills are still weak) and you can communicate in routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. The intensive course will enable you to further practise and consolidate your language skills and give you confidence in speaking Spanish.
Advanced Spanish Conversation 2
This course is for you if you have attended 6-7 years of part-time study and/or if you have a good knowledge of Spanish and you want to further practise your conversation skills. This course will make extensive use of audio/visual materials and there will be ample opportunity to expand your active vocabulary.
Advanced Spanish Conversation 3
This course is for you if you have attended 7+ years of part-time study and/or if you have a good knowledge of Spanish and you want to further practise your conversation skills. This course will make extensive use of audio/visual materials and there will be ample opportunity to expand your active vocabulary.
