Our Centre is unique because of the wide choice of different foreign languages on offer. Amongst them, Croatian (Serbian and Bosnian), Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish at various levels. In addition to these, we offer French, German, Italian and Spanish in eight different levels of entry to suit everybody’s ability.

L'Italia e gli Italiani 2
Continuiamo a parlare dell'Italia e degli italiani. Il corso è rivolto a studenti di buon livello che vogliono migliorare la competenza comunicativa e approfondire la conoscenza del paese e dei suoi abitanti. Gli argomenti per stimolare la conversazione in classe verteranno su temi di attualità, usi e costumi, cultura. Gli studenti avranno ampia opportunità di usare la lingua orale e di approfondire la conoscenza di lessico e forme idiomatiche.
The Italians in Wales: from History to Cultural Memory
This course looks at the economic and social motives of Italian immigration to south Wales, and the resulting interaction between Welsh and Italians. It studies how Italians are represented in Anglo-Welsh literature, and at the significance of recent events and commemorations, as well as recent Welsh-Italian narratives to illustrate how Italian migration emerges from the realm of communicative memory into the realm of cultural memory.
Italian for Beginners - Stage A
This course aims to provide you with a grounding in the basic grammatical structures of Italian in order to communicate at a basic level in essential social and survival situations in Italy. Though the emphasis is on speaking you will also learn grammatical structures and sentence pattern, which will form the basis for further progression in Italian. You will learn to read basic messages, letters and texts, understand authentic dialogues and produce your own dialogues in group and/or pair work during the class. Written exercises will be completed at home.
Italian for Beginners
This course aims to provide you with a grounding in the basic grammatical structures of Italian in order to communicate at a basic level in essential social and survival situations in Italy. Speaking Italian (Beginners)
This course will give you an opportunity to practise your speaking and listening skills in survival situations. The exercises will be based around the topics you have covered in the Italian for Beginners class, but new students, who have some knowledge of Italian, are also welcome.
Italian for Improvers - Stage B
This course will enable you to use a broader but still limited range of oral, aural and written language skills. Though the emphasis is on speaking you will also learn more grammatical structures and sentence pattern, which are essential for further progression in Italian. In class you will get ample opportunity to speak through pair-work and group exercises; listen to authentic audio/video tapes; read short texts and complete exercises which will enhance your vocabulary and your knowledge of grammar.
Italian for Improvers
This course will enable you to use a broader range of oral, aural and written language skills. You will learn more basic grammatical structures and sentence patterns, which are essential for further progression in Italian. In class you will get ample opportunity to speak through pair-work and group exercises; listen to authentic audio/video tapes; read short texts and complete exercises which will enhance your vocabulary and your knowledge of grammar.

Intermediate Italian - Stage C
This course will enable you to use a broader range of oral, aural and written language skills, sufficient to get by in Italy with some hesitations on topics concerned with everyday matters and express your view in writing in a more elaborate style. You will also further develop your understanding of the culture of Italy.

This course will enable you to use a broader range of oral, aural and written language skills, sufficient to get by in Italy with some hesitations on topics concerned with everyday matters and express your view in writing in a more elaborate style. Speaking Italian (Intermediate)

You will also practise listening skills that will enable you to understand Italian at news-reading speed. You will learn to understand some language used in the Italian press articles and comment upon their content in spoken and written form. You will also further develop your understanding of the culture of Italy.
Higher-Intermediate Italian
This course will enable you to use a broader range of oral, aural and written language skills, sufficient to speak freely in Italian about selected topics. You will also practise listening skills that will enable you to understand Italian at news-reading speed. You will learn to understand some language used in the Italian press articles and comment upon their content in spoken and written form.
Speaking Italian (Higher-Intermediate)
The emphasis of the course is on speaking and in class you will get ample opportunity to practise your conversational skills through pair-work and group exercises; listen to authentic audio/video tapes.The exercises will be based around the topics you have covered in the Higher-Intermediate Italian class, but new students, who have some knowledge of Italian, are also welcome.
Advanced Italian - Stage E
This course will enable you to further develop your oral, aural and written language in order to express yourself confidently on most general topics, without much conspicuous searching for words and using some complex sentence forms to do so. You will consolidate and expand your understanding of the structure of the language and the culture of Italy.
Advanced Italian - Stage F
This course will enable you to further develop your oral, aural and written language in order to express yourself fluently and almost effortlessly by selecting adequate complex sentence forms to do so. You will further consolidate and expand your understanding of the structure of Italian by analysing and discussing cultural, social and political issues pertaining to Italy.
Advanced Italian - Stage G
This course will enable you to further develop your oral, aural and written language in order to express yourself fluently and almost effortlessly by selecting adequate complex sentence forms to do so. You will further consolidate and expand your understanding of the structure of Italian by analysing and discussing cultural, social and political issues pertaining to Italy.
Advanced Italian - Stage H
This course will enable you to further expand your oral, aural and written language skills in order to develop your ability to produce and understand complex sentence structures and differentiate fine shades of meaning in highly specialised Italian texts. You will learn and practise sophisticated idiomatic expressions enabling you to effectively analyse and present complex topics.
L’Italia e gli Italiani
The aim of the course is to increase language competence while gaining a deeper understanding of Italian society. Oral and written texts on topics ranging from family life, society, language and history to cuisine,culture and the arts will be analysed and discussed. Students will thus be able to consolidate their grasp of Italian, extend their vocabulary and become more confident in the use of the language.
Le Regioni Italiane: La Campania
Meta turistica dei Romani, patria della vera pizza, di Pulcinella, e della canzone napoletana; terra di grandi esodi verso l’America, e di forti problematiche sociali. Questo corso e` un viaggio attraverso la Campania tra storia, arte, musica e quant’altro, in una delle piu` suggestive e appassionanti regioni del Mezzogiorno d’Italia.
Italian Conversation for Absolute Beginners
This course is aimed at students who have no knowledge of Italian. It focuses on speaking and understanding the language in practical contexts. Ideal if you want a taste of Italian!
Italian Conversation for Improvers
This intensive course is for you if you have attended one or two years of part-time study or you have recently gained a GCSE in Italian. You will actively engage in conversation and listening skills supported by audio/visual aids. There will be a particular emphasis on confidence building in spoken Italian.
Advanced Italian Conversation
This course will give you an intensive learning experience if you can speak Italian at an advanced level (for students who have studied Italian for more than 5 years). It will enable you to participate in conversations on general topics with a degree of fluency and naturalness as well as appropriate use of formal and/or informal language. We shall work on explaining a viewpoint, analysing a situation and its consequences, pointing out advantages and disadvantages. You will take part in discussions and role-plays and learn to understand and use more sophisticated expressions.
