Greek for Beginners I
This course is aimed at absolute beginners and will introduce students to the Greek language and culture. Students will learn the basics of Greek grammar and how to read Greek competently. We will practise basic conversation and language structures. Textbook: Communicate in Greek 1, new edition, Deltos.
Greek for Beginners II
This follow-on course from Greek for Beginners I will further improve your language and listening skills and introduce more complex grammar. It is not appropriate for absolute beginners and students joining in at this stage should know how to read Greek and have some grasp of the structure of the language.
Greek for Improvers I
This course is aimed at students who have some knowledge of Greek (oral and written) and wish to improve their language skills. Students already familiar with the structure of the language will enrich their vocabulary and advance their knowledge of Greek grammar. An insight into Greek life and culture will be provided through different media (e.g. internet, podcasts, and texts).
Higher Intermediate Greek
This course is aimed at students who wish to improve their communication skills and become fluent in Greek. There will be greater emphasis on speaking, pronunciation, translating and listening. More advanced grammar will be introduced to extend students capacity for expression in Greek. A greater range of media such as newspapers, Greek TV and radio will be used to give deeper insights into Greek life and culture.
Greek for Improvers II
This course is aimed at students who have attended Greek for Improvers I or have studied Greek in the past beyond the Beginners level. The students will further improve their oral, written and listening skills and become increasingly fluent in everyday conversation.
