Si vous souhaitez développer de manière plus précise et juste votre expression orale et écrite, ce cours est pour vous. Vous pourrez vous concentrer sur un français de style plus soutenu grâce à la lecture d’un livre qui vous aidera à développer un plus grand choix de vocabulaire et d’idiomes. Ce cours portera sur les nuances de la langue française tout en se concentrant sur l’importance des modes, en particulier le subjonctif. Ce cours fait partie du Diploma et est entièrement enseigné en français.

Who is this course for?

You have achieved 6 years part-time studies in French (post Stage F), or have an A-level with a very good grade. The course will be conducted in French. Level of the course required: DELF B2 or DALF C1.

Learning and Teaching

This course is based on participation to debates and discussions and research done at home, you will therefore be encouraged to actively participate in class and some personal input will be required as part of the course.

Coursework and Assessment

To award credits we need to have evidence of the knowledge and skills you have gained or improved. Some of this has to be in a form that can be shown to external examiners so that we can be absolutely sure that standards are met across all courses and subjects. You will not have formal examinations but you may have class tests. You may be asked to write assignments, keep a course journal or put together a portfolio. Our assessments are flexible to suit the course and the student. The most important element of assessment is that it should enhance your learning. Our methods are designed to increase your confidence and we try very hard to devise ways of assessing you that are enjoyable and suitable for adults with busy lives.

Les Chevaliers du Subjonctif, E. Orsenna, Le Livre de Poche, 2006. We would also like you to read newspapers and magazines on a regular basis. A range of periodicals are available from our library, such as: Science et Vie, L’Express, Le Monde Dossiers et Documents, Le Français dans le monde.
