Diploma in Translation (DipTrans)

Our translation courses in French to English support students in their preparation for the Chartered Institute of Linguists’ Diploma in Translation (DipTrans). These high-level courses are aimed at students who fulfil both of the following criteria:

These courses run from April for 10 weeks (Module 1) and from early September for 16 weeks (Module 2) up to the Chartered Institute of Linguists’ examination period, i.e. mid January. Students are expected to do both modules starting with Module 1 unless they have considerable recent experience as translators.

Students are asked to fill an online application form before enrolling that includes a request for a 200-250 word paragraph with information about background and/ or qualifications related to French, any experience of translation and reasons for wishing to do the course. There is a link to the form on the course description page.
