This is an ideal course for you if you have studied Chinese for two years part-time and have built up a working vocabulary of about 400 characters.
You will continue to be trained in listening and speaking skills, and reading and writing will now also be included. While learning the language, you will develop an understanding of the culture of China as well.
This course is ideal for those who have completed Chinese Language I and II by using Great Wall Chinese, or those who have reached a comparable level, ie having studied Chinese for about two years part-time with a working vocabulary of about 400 Chinese characters.

Learning and teaching
Apart from face-to-face teaching sessions, you will have access to on-line courseware, to review what you have learned.
You will take part in dialogues, group discussions, games and other interactive language exercises in class.
Grammatical knowledge and Chinese characters will be introduced gradually, to facilitate your overall command of the language.
Coursework and assessment
To award credits we need to have evidence of the knowledge and skills you have gained or improved.
Some of this has to be in a form that can be shown to external examiners so that we can be absolutely sure that standards are met across all courses and subjects.
In this regard, there will be a written class test at the end of the course, to examine what you have learned, but the overall assessment result is also based on your classroom performance during the course.
Our assessments are flexible to suit the course and the students. The most important element of assessment is that it should enhance your learning.
Our methods are designed to increase your confidence and we try very hard to devise ways of assessing you that are enjoyable and suitable for adults with busy lives.
