This is an ideal course for you if you have studied Chinese for three years part-time and have built up a working vocabulary of about 600 characters.
You will continue to be trained in speaking and listening skills, and reading and writing training will now be enhanced. Whilst learning the language, you will develop an understanding of the culture of China as well.
This course is suitable for those who have completed Chinese Language I, II and III by using Great Wall Chinese, or those who have reached a comparable level, i.e. having studied Chinese for over two years part-time with a working vocabulary of about 600 characters.

Learning and teaching
Apart from face-to-face teaching sessions, you will have access to online resources, to review what you have learned.
The tutor will assist with more individual learning, although classroom activities such as conversations, group discussions and other interactive language exercises will continue to be organised.
Coursework and assessment
To award credits we need to have evidence of the knowledge and skills you have gained or improved.
Some of this has to be in a form that can be shown to external examiners so that we can be absolutely sure that standards are met across all courses and subjects.
In this regard, there will be a written class test at the end of the course, to examine what you have learned, but the overall assessment result is also based on your classroom performance during the course.
Our assessments are flexible to suit the course and the students. The most important element of assessment is that it should enhance your learning.
Our methods are designed to increase your confidence and we try very hard to devise ways of assessing you that are enjoyable and suitable for adults with busy lives.
