Cardiff University Confucius Institute is pleased to welcome Professor Li Dan, from the International Politics Department at Xiamen University. Li Dan joins the existing team at the Confucius Institute as the Academic director.
Since its launch in 2008, Cardiff Confucius Institute has delivered a wide range of Chinese language and teaching programmes to adult learners through the choices programme at Cardiff University and has also delivered a wide variety of cultural activities for adults and school pupils.
Professor Li commented “I am honoured and very excited about coming to Cardiff to lead the Confucius Institute to provide courses in Chinese language and culture to members of the community, public and private sector organisations and university staff and students. The Confucius Institute acts as a focus for those involved in China-related research and teaching and in the past few years, our CI has achieved great progress in promoting Chinese language and culture. As well as this existing work, I look forward to focusing on academic exchange programmes, the international conference grant, PhD in China Fellowship, Joint PhD Fellowship, and the visiting scholar in China Programme.”
Cardiff Confucius Institute will offer new Chinese summer courses in June and July this year through the LEARN summer programme. Autumn part-time courses for adults will be advertised from July. For more information visit www.cardiff.ac.uk/learn/confucius-institute
