UK Disability History Month, FREE lunch-time taster sessions.


UK Disability History Month is an annual event creating a platform to focus on the history of disabled people’s struggle for equality and human rights. It runs from November 22nd to December 22nd 2012.

Cardiff Centre for Lifelong Learning will be running FREE lunch-time taster sessions to mark this important month.

Taster sessions

‘Mindfulness for Mental Health’ – Elaine Sketchley

There are three opportunities to join this session. Monday 3rd, Tuesday 4th or Wednesday 5th December 12.00 noon to 1.00pm in room 0.52 Main Building, Park Place, Cardiff University. Booking essential.

‘Creative Writing for Mental Wealth’ – Briony Goffin

There are two opportunities to join this session. Monday 3rd and Wednesday 5th December between 12.00 noon and 1.00pm in room 0.53 Main Building, Park Place, Cardiff University. Booking essential.

‘Were there any disabled people in early modern England?’- Rachel Bowen

Tuesday 4th December 12.00 noon to 1.00pm in room 0.53 Main Building, Park Place, Cardiff University. Booking essential. There is also an afternoon session on Thursday 6th December

‘Sensory creative writing workshop: be inspired by contact with natural objects’ with Creative Writing tutor Susan Morgan.

The session will be held in Room E2.20 Cardiff Centre for Lifelong Learning, Senghennydd Road. Booking is essential.
