Lean in Higher Education is becoming more and more popular. A number of institutions are beginning to explore what Lean can do for them. However it can be difficult to understand how some of the key concepts and philosophies apply in an education environment.
The Cardiff Lean University team can offer help in developing this understanding. Primarily this is done through running an in-house Lean Skills for Leaders programme including mentoring of a project. This will provide your institution with a core group of staff who have a good understanding of the principles and philosophies of Lean. They will also have practical experience, through implementation of their own project, of the tools and techniques that resonate the most in a higher education environment.
At the beginning of your Lean journey it can be difficult to determine where to start and the direction of travel. The Cardiff Lean University Team can offer assistance with developing your strategy for improvement through helping you to define a clear purpose for what you are doing, exploring the issues around change, developing a clear understanding of what you need to do to become successful including how you are going to measure that success and ultimately helping you generate an implementation plan that your organisation can take forward.
Key to the work that the Cardiff University Lean Team does with other institutions is that we create an implementation strategy that is right for you. That works for what your aims and objectives are and takes into account your current culture, resources and skills.
