Latest figures released by the Technology Strategy Board reveal that in 2011/12, for every £1 million of government investment into a Knowledge Transfer Partnership:
- 39 new jobs were created (including associates employed after their project completed)
- 279 staff were trained
- £1.53m was invested in plant and machinery
- £1.2m was invested in R&D
- The anticipated annual increase in profit increased to £4.79m (from £3.08m in 2010-11).
Furthermore, in 2011-12, 78% of partnerships completing a final report confirmed they had plans for further collaboration as an outcome of their KTP and demonstrates the success of the partnership scheme.
