Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Cardiff MA Political Communication student Charlie Hughes

On May 16th new and prospective applicants to Cardiff’s Journalism Postgraduate courses can join a two hour surgery designed to provide advice and guidance about getting started in Journalism.

Journalism’s everywhere today – hyperlocal blogs, regional magazines and national news broadcasters mean it can be difficult to know where and how to get started.

Cardiff’s Postgraduate Diploma and MA courses in Broadcast, Magazine and Newspaper Journalism offer a wide variety of entry routes into journalism.

If you’ve ever wondered how to launch your own Magazine Brand or Smartphone App our experienced tutors will be available to help you make the right choice of degree to fit your aspirations.

The surgery will be taking questions using #JournalismSurgery @CardiffJomec, at facebook.com/CardiffJomec and also by telephone using: Broadcast 02920 876185, Magazine 02920 874681 and Newspaper 02920 876183.

Director of the Centre for Journalism Professor Richard Sambrook said, “We’re getting more and more people asking how to get started in journalism and which of our degrees is most appropriate to meet their requirements.

“Our two hour surgery will help demystify some of the common myths and pitfalls – and we can also demonstrate the careers of our recent graduates as examples of the new routes open to journalists.”

The surgery will take place from 2 till 4 PM on Thursday May 16th.
