Where will your degree take you? - BA Careers Event

Event Date: Wednesday 17 April, 5.30pm, Bute Building

BA Careers Event

A closer look at Careers in Journalism and Media inspired by Cardiff's graduates working in industry

On April 17 the School will welcome three of its graduates back to the department to talk about life after the degree and how they are faring in the 'world of work'.

This event gives BA Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies students an opportunity to meet alumni, ask questions, share experiences and maximise the opportunity to listen, learn and network with those that have successfully put the skills and knowledge they learnt in JOMEC into practice.

The School’s returning graduates are Hayley Dunlop, currently a Senior Press Officer at The Guardian, fashion designer Josie Beckett from N16 Vintage Ltd and Gary Andrews, Digital Campaigns & Community Manager at Ruder Finn. The event will be hosted by Dr John Jewell.

Dr Jewell said “What to do and where to go after graduation is a big question for our current students, so these events are intended to paint a picture of the possibilities open to them when they leave.

“We’ve planned this as an informal event, with an emphasis on networking and learning from the experiences of others who have recently moved from being a student to a successful job in business and the media.”

Numbers are limited to 40, so please be sure to register via the careers portal link - you will need to click on 'Your careers account' once on the careers homepage.

The event starts at 5:30PM and will be in room 1.40, Bute Building.
